The Confucius Cultural Week for Chinese and Foreign young Students initiated at the Confucius Cultural Festival and the Nishan World Civilization Forum for the first time

The "2021 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival, 7th Nishan World Civilization Forum" will be held from September 27 to 28 in Qufu, Shandong province. As scheduled, the Award Ceremony for the 16th UNESCO Confucius Prize for Education and the launch ceremony of the 2021 Confucius Culture Week for Chinese and Foreign Young Students will be held on the evening of September 27.

over 150 Chinese and foreign students will attend the Confucius Culture Week, which is initiated as part of the International Confucius Cultural Festival and the 7th Nishan World Civilization Forum to carry forward excellent Chinese traditional culture, strengthen cultural exchanges, mutual learning and affinity between Chinese and foreign young students and they will have a variety of cultural programs at the opening ceremony to experience and learn colorful Chinese traditional culture. After the opening ceremony, they will continue to learn Confucius and Confucian culture and other excellent Chinese traditional culture through field visit to promote mutual understanding and promote friendship.

According to reporters, the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Education, the first international award named after a Chinese, was initiated by the People's Government of Shandong Province and that of Jining City in October 2005 at the 33rd General Conference of UNESCO to start from 2006 with strong support from the Ministry of Education, the National Tourism Administration, the National Commission for UNESCO and other relevant departments, aiming to recognize governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to literacy around the world, especially adults and out-of-school teenagers in rural areas, girls and women.

Up to 2020, the event has been held successfully for 15 years, 42 institutions and individuals awarded, including 19 from Africa, 12 from Asia, 4 from South America and Europe, and 3 from North America and contributed greatly to the improvement of literacy levels around the world.
