On November 29, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage held a meeting on the progress of the major project "Archaeology of China" in Beijing, and reported the latest progress of four archaeological projects: Liangzhu Ancient City and water conservancy system site in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Sidun site in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, Shayang Chenghe site in Hubei Province, and the origin and diffusion of Austronesian language group.

The four archaeological discoveries and studies in this report are important research results of the major project of the "Archaeological China" :the study of regional civilization patterns in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the study of civilization processes in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (Neolithic Age), and the study of the origin and diffusion of the Austronesian language group. Under the framework of the major project "Archaeology in China", the State Administration of Cultural Heritage will continue to advance key topics, promote theoretical innovation in archaeology, based on the concept of "Big archaeology", strengthen the deep integration of humanities and social disciplines, modern science and technology and archaeology, comprehensively promote the social sharing of archaeological results, guide the public to form a correct historical understanding, and forge a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation.
