Confucius passed Mount Tai on his way to Qi state. When he heard a woman crying sadly, he asked Zilu to ask her. Zilu saw her crying at a new grave, so he asked who had died. The woman said sadly that it was her son. Her family moved to this mountain from afar. Unexpectedly, there was a fierce tiger in the mountain. Her father-in-law, husband and son were all attacked by the tiger one after another and died. Zilu then asked, "Then why don't you leave here?" The woman said, "Just because there are no exorbitant taxes in this deep mountain!" Zilu told Confucius about it. Confucius' heart could not be calm for a long time. Then he said to his disciples very seriously, "Remember, tyranny is more ferocious than a tiger!"
