Confucius walked into the gate of the court, bending like bowing. He would never stand in the middle of the door or step on the threshold when walking. When he walked past the monarch's seat, he looked solemn, walked steadily and spoke in a low voice. And when he walked up the steps, he lift up the edge of his garment, bent down and held his breath. As he stepped down, his complexion eased with each step. After walking down the steps, he walked quickly to his position, and still looked respectful and obedient.
