On January 13, a general debate on the academic construction of Nishan World Center for Confucian Study was held in Beijing.Experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, International Confucian Association, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Party School of the Central Committee of CPC(National Academy of Governance), World Sinology Center, Beijing Language and Culture University, Capital Normal University attended the debate.

During the debate, the participants shared good practices and successful experiences in terms of organizational management, talent attraction and cultivation and international communication,etc.

Centered around the construction of the academic nature of Nishan World Center for Confucian Study, they offered suggestions and proposals in promotion of academic study, transformation of academic chievements as well as the exchanges and cooperation of international academics. It was agreed that the duty of Nishan World Center for Confucian Study should be correctly comprehend for further stepping up to their responsibilities of the inheritance, development, popularization and promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, innovation on the modelof talent attraction and cultivation should be adopted for extensivelygathering foreign and domestic cultural masters, yielding more high-end academic achievements. Furthermore, multiform activities of cultural exchange should be exploredfor international transformation of academic achievements, boosting the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations.

Over the past three years, ample achievements have been made in the academic constructionthanks to the guidance of the academic committee of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies. Since building a world center for Confucianism with global dominance is a long-term task,it is necessary to take advantage of experts and scholars’wisdom and strength for professional support, build consensus, and take concerted effortsin face of new problems and challenges, , so as to enhancethe high-quality development of academic construction.
