On October 31, the 2025 Wang Yangming's Mind PhilosophyConference, jointly organized by the People's Government of Shaoxing City, International Confucian Association, and ChinaPhilosophyHistory Association, opened in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. Hao Ping, executive vice president of International Confucian Association, attended the event.Guo Chengyan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation), ViceChairman and Secretary-General of China Confucius Foundation, and ViceChairman of International Confucian Association, attended and delivered a speech.

In the address, Guo Chengyan stated that Yangming's Mind Philosophyrepresents the quintessence of China's outstanding traditional culture and stands as a pivotal milestone in the evolution of Confucianism. As the cradle of Confucian thought, Shandong has not only givenbirth to Confuciusthe Sageand Menciusthe Second Sage, but also nurtured the Xunzithe Later Sage. Shandongremains the spiritual homeland cherished by all eminent Confucian scholars throughout history. From Qufu to Shaoxing, from Confucius to Wang Yangming, what has been passed down continuously is the sentiment and responsibility for the country, the family and the world in Confucianism. In 2019, Shandong Province earnestly implemented President Xi Jinping’s guiding principles in the speech made during the inspection of Shandong and jointly established Nishan World Center for ConfucianStudies with the Ministry of Education. Since its inception, with the support of leaders and experts at all levels, it has leveraged the rich cultural heritage to focus on building "Four Highland", and built a new development pattern that is all-round, multi-level and wide-ranging.

Guo Chengyan stated that today's exploration of Wang Yangming's philosophy and cultural power is not only a concrete manifestation of practicing Wang Yangming's spirit of "unity of knowledge and action", but also an important measure to further promote cultural creative transformation and innovative development. We will work with the CPC Shaoxing Municipal Committee and the Shaoxing Municipal Government to thoroughly implement cultural ideasof Xi Jinping, jointly strengthen the research, interpretation and application of Yangming's mind philosophy, continue to promote cultural creative transformation and innovative development, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of a modern socialist cultural power and the peace and development of the world.

Themed on"Yangming’s Mind Philosophy and Cultural Power," this conference has brought together nearly 500 participants including distinguished scholars from home and abroad, representatives from Yangming's historical sites, and practitioners from education, business and social governance sectors. They gathered in Shaoxing to explore how Yangming Mind Philosophy can provide profound cultural impetus for personal growth, social progress, and national rejuvenation.
