Zaozhuang is the hometown of Mozi. The CPC Zaozhuang Municipal Committee and Zaozhuang Municipal Government have attached great importance to the research, dissemination and transformation of Mozi's thoughts. They constantly explore the contemporary value of Mozi culture, produce a large number of high-quality academic research achievements, strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges, empower industrial development, and build a new pattern of coordinated development of culture, tourism, industry, academia, research and application. Zaozhuang University is one of the earliest institutions at home and abroad to conduct research on Mohism. It founded the Journal of Mozi Studiesand held academic activities such as the Mozi and Lu Ban Academic Symposium, enjoying a high reputation in the academic circle and becoming an important base for Mohism research in the new era.

Since its establishment, Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation) has fully leveraged Shandong's rich traditional cultural resources, focusing on the construction of "four highlands" in global Confucianism research, talent aggregation and cultivation, popularization and promotion, and international exchange and communication. It has formed a coordinated development mechanism of "one center, multiple sub-centers, and several research bases," establishing a new development pattern that is comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging. The research base of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies at Zaozhuang University, is the first municipal-level specialized research base since the Center's founding. The Center will leverage global academic resources to ensure robust support for its development. Working with Zaozhuang University, the Center aims to transform this base into a premier platform for Confucianism and Mohism studies, a vital hub for talent cultivation, a dynamic window for cultural exchange, and a strategic vehicle for regional advancement.
