On December 29, 2025, the unveiling ceremony of the research base ofNishan World Centerfor ConfucianStudies（NWCCS）at Anshan Normal Universityand the 2025 symposium on “The Inheritance and Evolution of Confucianism in Northeast Asia”were held at Anshan Normal University.

The research base at Anshan Normal Universityis the first ofits kindestablished by NWCCSoutside Shandong Province. Both sides will focus on exploring culturalevolution of Confucianism and stimulating the contemporary value of Confucian wisdom. Jointly, they aim to transform this base into a pivotal platform for Confucian studies in Northeast Asia, a key hub for talent development, a vital window for cultural dissemination, and a significant vehicle for regional progress. This initiative will inject new momentum into regional peace, prosperity, as well as the creative transformation and innovative development offine traditional culture.

At the symposium, focusing on the research base's development goals, which is “rooted in Liaoning, radiating across Northeast China, and engaging the world”, they explored suchobjectives from philosophical foundations, regional cultural integration, tocommunication strategies, establishing the base's academic framework as “deeply rooted in local traditions, bridging Northeast Asia, and connecting globally.”Furthermore, they delved into the convergence between Confucianism and Northeast Asian cultures, elucidating the adaptability and enduring vitality of Confucian thought in the region. This effort aims to create a distinctive "Confucianism + regional culture" brand, providing academic support for the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese fine traditional culture.
