On March 5, Li Shihua, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Deputy Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation), met a delegation led by Ahmad Suadi, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Association, Dean of the School of Islamic Civilization at the University of the Indonesian Ulema Association, and Director of the China Research Center at the University of the Indonesian Ulema Association, in Jinan. Ahmad Suadi is the first resident scholar of the "Qilu Visiting Research Program" to arrive in Shandong in 2026. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on issues including Confucian-Islamic civilizational dialogue, academic exchange and cooperation.

Li Shihua welcomed Ahmad Suadi and his delegation, and introduced the economic and social development of Shandong as well as the progress in building the province into a culturally strong province. He stated that Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies has long been committed to the academic research, talent cultivation, international exchanges and popularization of China's fine traditional culture. Ahmad Suadi has been engaged in research on Islamic civilization and intercultural dialogue for a long time. It is expected that during his residency, Suadi will conduct in-depth exchanges and academic interactions with Chinese experts and scholars, make positive contributions to Confucian-Islamic civilizational dialogue and the promotion of civilizational exchanges and mutual learning between the two countries, and provide unique wisdom to peace and development in Asia and even the world.

Ahmad Suadi expressed his honor to participate in the "Qilu Visiting Research Program". He hoped to take this academic researchas a bond to deepen academic exchanges, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, and jointly elevate people-to-people exchanges and civilizational mutual learning between China and Indonesia to a new level.

Following the meeting, certificate for the Scholar of the "Qilu Visiting Research Program" and certificate of Distinguished Research Fellow of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies were awarded to Ahmad Suadi.
