On November 21st, an international frontier academic lecture was held atNishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation). Professor Cai Xianjin, a government advisor of Shandong Province and the former director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, was invited to delivera lecture entitled "Oriental Culture: the Historical Position in the World ". Guo Chengyan, Secretary of the CPCCommittee and Deputy Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation), ViceChairman and Secretary-General of China Confucius Foundation, attended and presented CaiXianjin with an appointment letter as the Director of Xunzi Research Center of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies.

In October this year, Xunzi Research Center of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studieswas inaugurated. The appointment of the director of Xunzi Research Center marks a crucial step in the professional and systematic development of Xunzi-relatedacademic research, providing talent support for deeply exploring the essence of Xunzi's thought and promoting the inheritance and innovative development of Confucianism.

Guo Chengyan stated that this thematic lecture, grounded in a broad perspective of global civilization, meticulously analyzed the distinctive position and evolutionary trajectory of oriental culture within the world historical landscape. With a lofty intention and profound significance, it not only provides a solid support for deeply understanding the unique advantages of Chinese culture and firmly establishing cultural confidence. It has also brought significant ideological enlightenment to ourwork, injecting a powerful spiritual force into exploring the cultivation of Chinese-style modernization through culture and contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

In his lecture, Cai Xianjin emphasized that amid the deepening globalization and increasingcultural exchanges, re-examining the historical positioning and contemporary value of oriental culture is a significant academic topic.
