The 2021 Conference on Wang Yang-ming Studies was held in Shaoxing of Zhejiang on October 30th. The theme of this conference is “Wang Yang-ming Studies and East Asian Culture". Experts and scholars participated online and on site to talk about the heritage of Wang Yang-ming Studies, and exchanges and mutual learning among East Asian civilizations, exploring for more effective ways of cultural exchanges in East Asia. 

Wang Yang-ming is an important representative of the Zhedong School, and Yang-ming culture is a model of fine Chinese culture. According to historical records, Wang Yang-ming travelled to at least 15 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, among which Guizhou, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang are the most representative. When he was alive, Wang Yang-ming Studies were spread in East Asian countries and regions such as South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. The Wang Yang-ming Studies in China, Japan and South Korea differ with each other while forming harmonious unity. For a long time, Wang Yang-ming Studies have played an important role in promoting cultural exchanges in East Asia. It also sheds new lights for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Shaoxing is where Wang Yang-ming was born, grew up and died. It is also where Wang Yang-ming Studies originated, became mature and spread. Shaoxing issued the first Wang Yang-ming culture and tourism map in East Asia at the conference.
