On May 5, the "China Bookroom" of Madagascar’s "Little Bird's Nest" school was officially unveiled, and nearly 3,000 Chinese and Chinese-French bilingual books donated by China to the school were also officially opened to the students.
The books donated by China to the "China Bookroom" are quite rich in content, including children's editions of the Four Great Classical Novels, books introducing traditional Chinese culture and customs such as the Chinese zodiac, and Chinese phonetic versions of Chinese and foreign children's literature, etc.
The chairman of the "Little Bird's Nest" Group stated that "China Bookroom" will surely create more opportunities for the "little birds" who are eager for knowledge in the school to learn more about the Chinese language and culture. The "Little Bird's Nest" school, located in the suburbs of Antananarivo, has a history of more than 30 years. It is a full-time school covering kindergarten to high school education, with more than 2,000 teachers and students. In recent years, the "Little Bird's Nest" school has vigorously promoted Chinese teaching. In April 2017, the Confucius Classroom of this school was officially established. It is the first Confucius Classroom in Madagascar with over 1,000 students so far.
