As a national intangible cultural heritage, the pottery-producing skills of Li ethnic group bear the wisdom and cultural memory of the group. In Heitu Village of Sanya, the establishment of a pottery cooperative has offered a new way for local villagers to inherit the pottery-producing skills and to sell their pottery products. Thanks to the marketing by this cooperative, the pottery works of Li ethnic group have become the cultural symbol of Heitu Village.
